This position is a 0.80 full-time equivalent (30 hours/week) with a salary of up to $90,000 and two weeks (10 days) of vacation. This is a one-year contract, with anticipated start date being in June 2026 and the possibility of extension and/or conversion to full-time status.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising Manager will play a central role in growing and diversifying Momentum’s revenue, strengthening donor relationships, and building the systems needed to support long-term financial sustainability. This role is responsible for leading individual giving strategy, supporting grants, foundation, union, and other institutional funding opportunities, and helping develop a stronger overall philanthropy strategy for the organization.
This position is suited to someone who is strategic, relational, highly organized, and deeply committed to 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and issues. The successful candidate will bring strong fundraising judgment, excellent writing and relationship-building skills, and the ability to build practical systems in a fast-moving advocacy organization.
Responsibilities:
Individual Giving (50%)
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive individual giving program focused on acquisition, retention, and growth:
- Develop and implement a 12-month individual giving strategy, including donor acquisition, renewal, and upgrade pathways
- Build and grow a recurring donor program, including campaign design, conversion strategies, and retention systems
- Design and execute donor appeals across digital, email, and campaign moments
- Develop and manage donor segmentation strategies, including pathways for low-dollar, mid-level, and major gift donors
- Identify and cultivate high-value individual donors, including managing outreach, relationship building, and stewardship
- Create and oversee donor engagement and impact reporting strategies that strengthen retention and deepen relationships
- Develop and implement third-party fundraising tools and campaigns, including supporter-led fundraising initiatives
- Produce donor-facing materials including case for support, impact stories, and campaign assets
- Track and analyze performance across individual giving streams, adjusting tactics based on results
Grants, Foundations, and Institutional Funding (25%)
Support and strengthen Momentum’s institutional funding pipeline across foundations, unions, and other aligned partners.

- Identify and track funding opportunities across foundations, unions, and other institutional partners
- Lead or support the development of grant proposals, reports, and related materials
- Maintain and manage relationships with existing funders, including stewardship and reporting processes
- Support union engagement and contribution strategies, including outreach and relationship management
- Develop and maintain core funding materials, including organizational descriptions, program summaries, and boilerplate language
- Coordinate internal inputs required for proposals and reporting, ensuring consistency and quality
- Maintain a grants calendar and pipeline tracking system
Strategy & Systems Developement 25%
- Build the strategic and operational foundation required for long-term fundraising success, ensuring Momentum has the positioning, systems, tools, and internal practices needed to grow revenue sustainably.
- Support the development and refinement of Momentum’s philanthropic positioning and case for support, clearly articulating why the organization is uniquely fundable.
- Develop and implement donor stewardship frameworks and engagement models
- Assess and strengthen fundraising systems, including CRM use, segmentation, reporting, and donor tracking
- Establish key performance indicators and reporting rhythms across fundraising streams
- Support the development of internal fundraising processes, workflows, and tools
- Contribute to revenue forecasting, target setting, and growth planning
- Support board engagement in fundraising, including tools, expectations, and capacity building
- Identify risks related to funding sources and support the development of mitigation approaches
Qualifications
- Familiarity with or commitment to 2SLGBTQIA+ issues and communities, and the ability to communicate about these issues with clarity and respect
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, ideally within nonprofit, advocacy,, or political environments with demonstrated responsibility for revenue generation.

- Demonstrated experience building or growing individual giving programs, including donor acquisition, retention, and upgrade strategies across multiple channels
- Experience with grant writing and managing institutional funders, including foundations, unions, and/or government funding programs, from prospecting through reporting and renewal
- Strong understanding of donor psychology, stewardship, and fundraising strategy, including how to build trust, motivate giving, and sustain long-term donor relationships
- Experience working with CRMs and fundraising data to inform decision-making, including segmentation, pipeline tracking, reporting, and performance analysis
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling donor-facing materials such as appeals, proposals, reports, and case for support content
- High level of initiative, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong judgment and ability to operate in politically sensitive or values-driven environments, including navigating reputational considerations and stakeholder dynamics
Work Location & Requirements
This position is home-based and remote. No relocation is required. Occasional travel may be required. Use of a personal computer and reliable internet access are required. These costs will not be paid by Momentum.
